Board of Directors Meeting

Monday, April 3, 2006, 7:30 p.m.

 

The Board of Directors of Kutztown Area School District met for the workshop board meeting on Monday, April 3, 2006, 7:30 p.m., at the Kutztown Elementary School Multi-purpose Room pursuant to due notice to board members and the public.

Call to Order   The meeting was called to order at 7:39 p.m. by President Vymazal.

 

Welcome         President Vymazal welcomed guests and opened the meeting with a moment of silence and Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.  He asked that everyone sign the attendance book and mark their concern next to their name.  He requested that anyone wishing to speak on an agenda item please raise his/her hand to be recognized. This meeting was tape-recorded.

 

Personnel       Motion made by Patricia Bealer, seconded by Dennis Ritter, to approve the following  

personnel items:
1.  Acceptance of the resignation, due to retirement, of Stephen Breininger, biology teacher, effective the end of School Year 2005-2006.
2.  Acceptance of the resignation of Sharon Anders, high school head cook, effective March 31, 2006.
3.  Approval of Wanda Herring as high school head cook, effective April 3, 2006 at a rate of $10.65 per hour.
4.  Approval of Paul Schafer as full-time custodian effective April 10, 2006 at a rate of $9.25 per hour.
5.  Permission to hire two temporary summer custodians to work May 15 – August 18, 2006 at the starting rate of $9.00 per hour with ratification at a future board meeting.
6.  Approval of the following guest teachers effective March 29, 2006 for School Year 2005-2006 at the current substitute teacher rate of $88.00 per day for days 1-20 and $98.00 per day thereafter:
              Elisa Hammes                               Rebecca Hamm
7.  Approval of Carolyn Folk as cafeteria substitute effective April 4, 2006 for School Year 2005-2006 at the current substitute cafeteria rate of $7.50 per hour.
8.   Approval of Renee George as a Krapf bus driver for School Year 2005-2006.

All Personnel Are Approved Pending the DistrictÕs Receipt of All Mandated Credentials.

 

2006-2007           Motion made by Patricia Bealer, seconded by Kay Churchman, to authorize the

BCTC Budget   expenditures of the Berks Career and Technology CenterÕs General Program for the period

                        July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007 as set forth in the attached summary.

    Kutztown Area School District expenditures are:

                        based on district enrollment:

            One Time Support Fee                                                $1,600.00

            Message Fee $3.00/student, 1,780 students SY 05-06 $5,340.00
