The Board of Directors of
Kutztown Area School District met for the regular board meeting on Monday, June
20, 2005 at 7:30 p.m., in the library of the Senior High School pursuant to due
notice to board members and the public.

Welcome President
Vymazal welcomed guests and opened the meeting with a moment of silence
and
Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
He asked that everyone signs the attendance book and marks their concern
next to their name. He requested
that anyone wishing to speak on an agenda item please raise his/her hand to be
recognized. The meeting was tape recorded.

SuperintendentÕs Report
The senior class put
together a very nice Baccalaureate. It included talented seniors and
inspirational words. Dr. Winkler recognized Eric Erb, Lorraine Felker and Kris
Tuerk for organizing a wonderful graduation ceremony. Mr. Chambers was a great
speaker and the night went very well. Class practices were well organized and
attended by all. The grounds looked the best ever. Thank you to Tom Green and
his staff. Thank you to the agriculture students and Bill Riedel for donating
and planting the plants.
Close of school in
all buildings went well. Staff got together one last time before summer.

Conrad as Head Coach of GirlsÕ Basketball for School Year 2005-2006 at a salary
of $5,402.

employment for Brandy Faust as ESY aide for Summer 2005.

Robinson as an aide for the 2005 Extended School Year program for 2.5 hours per
day at her current hourly rate. (To be reimbursed by Brandywine Heights Area
School District).

Title I Motion

Waiver to apply for waivers for Title I Section
1113(a)(2)(B) – Eligible School Attendance areas for
the 2005, 2006, 2007 school years for Kutztown
Elementary School and Maxatawny Elementary School. Using the district-wide
low-income average would deny Title I reading support to students at Kutztown
and Maxatawny Elementary Schools. These waivers are requested for 3 years in
order to provide educational continuity to our students in those
buildings.

2005-2006 Motion
made by Carl Ziegler, seconded by James Kramer, to adopt the 2005-2006
KASD Budget Kutztown Area School District budget in the amount of
$22,874,152.00
Adoption
RESOLVED, that the Board of School Directors of Kutztown Area School District hereby assess, levies, and enacts or re-enacts (a) a tax upon the assessment valuation of real estate in the said school district at the rate of 24.26 mills or twenty-four dollars and twenty-six cents ($24.26) on each $1,000 of assessed valuation; (b) a tax of $5.00 upon each person residing in said school district on the first day of July 2005, under Section 679 of the Pennsylvania School Code; (c) a tax of $5.00 upon each person residing in said school district on the first day of July 2005, under authority of Act 511; (d) a tax of 1% upon the earned income of each resident of said school district, under authority of Act 511; (e) a 1% realty transfer tax upon the transfer of all real estate situated within the said school district under authority of Act 511; (f) a $10.00 Occupational Privilege Tax upon all persons having their principal place of employment within the geographical limits of said school district, under authority of Act 511.
