Board of Directors Meeting
Monday, April 15, 2002, 7:30 p.m.
The Board of Directors of
Kutztown Area School District met for the regular board meeting on Monday,
April 15, 2002 at 7:30 p.m., in the library of the Senior High School pursuant
to due notice to board members and the public.

Welcome President
Vymazal welcomed guests and opened the meeting with a
moment
of silence and Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. He asked that everyone signs the attendance book and marks
their concern next to their name.
He requested that anyone wishing to speak on an agenda item please raise
his/her hand to be recognized.

SuptÕs Presentation of Huguenot Lodge donations to PTOs:
Report Ron
Dalius and three other members of the Huguenot Lodge presented four $1,500
checks, one to each elementary PTO. The money was raised by the lodge with the
help of PTO representatives at the Hemecht Fest pot pie supper and chicken BBQ.
It was unfortunately held the weekend after Sept. 11th attacks.
Dr.
Winkler said that the board just finished with two of the four architect
interviews. The next two are scheduled for next week. She said they now have a
better understanding of a high school Feasibility Study.
Committee EIT 13.5 people at the Berks EIT process 10,000 returns.

Spring
meeting was held in this area. It was well attended by politicians. Nine
Carl Ziegler Representatives, Senators or aides were in
attendance. Many School Board
Directors
came. Politicians seemed to be more interested and productive than
other
years.
Policy & Curriculum Reviewed and recommended Family and Consumer Science
textbook,
Bill Yurvati pending
budget approval. Life skills support options for next year were discussed.
A grant of $500 is available for parents. Remediation
services, no child left behind, PSSAs and Terra Novas, summer programs for
students and academy for professional staff, GAPP trip update Ð Mr. Erb will
chaperone. Teacher recruitment poster was shown for Alvernia College job fair.
