Free Books for Children Ages 0-5 through the Kutztown Area School District Imagination Library

As the Kutztown Area School District, we believe that literacy (reading, writing, word study, speaking and listening, and media fluency) is a critical foundation for all learning and success in life. Developing a love of reading and experiencing the joy and warmth of being read to is one of the most precious experiences in a young child’s life. We also believe that the literacy achievement of students is supported by effective, reflective professionals and the cooperative efforts of family, school, and community. As such, we are delighted to announce the launch of the Kutztown Area School District Imagination Library Book Gifting Program.

Through the generous support of the Kutztown Area School District Education Foundation, all children living in the district and enrolled in the program will receive one new book each month mailed to their residence from birth until the child's fifth birthday. That will mean every child born and raised in  the district could enter kindergarten with a personal library of 60 books!

To register, simply go to www.imaginationlibrary.com, scroll down, and click on the link that says “Can I Register My Child”? If you have any questions about registration or the program, please contact Mrs. Rikki DeVough (rdevough@kasd.org).
