Welcome to Elementary Gifted Services.

 

My name is Rebecca Ziegler. I am the teacher of the gifted for grades K – 5, working out of both elementary schools and the Endeavor classroom, housed in Kutztown Elementary School. Starting this school year, I will also be managing some of the gifted students in the senior high. I originally graduated from Kutztown University with a degree in Art Education, teaching elementary art one day a week in the Kutztown elementary schools for 17 years while my daughters were young. Once our girls became students of middle school age, I began teaching full-time primary Learning Support at Kutztown Elementary, having earned my Special Education teaching certification along the way. My Masters of Education in Classroom Technology was completed at Wilkes University.

This is my 37th year as a teacher in the Kutztown Schools, and my twelvth year teaching the gifted students in the district. I have a personal connection with, and love for the inner workings of a gifted child's brain. I marvel at the innate abilities of these children and enjoy watching them find their way through problem solving situations. With guidance and direction, it is my goal to give them the tools necessary to continue to excel, encouraging their natural inquisitiveness and helping them learn appropriate social interaction skills so imperative in today's world.
