Mrs. Jessica Ortiz-Eichert

My name is Jessica Ortiz-Eichert.  The students call me Mrs. Eichert.  I have been teaching since 2001.  I’ve had the pleasure of teaching middle school Learning Support classes, high school Autistic Support classes, and am currently teaching high school Life Skills classes.

I love teaching the Life Skills Program at Kutztown High School.  Life skills include a wide range of knowledge and skill interactions believed to be essential for adult independent living.  The goal of this program is to prepare students to make a successful transition to adult life. Students will be encouraged to establish an independent lifestyle and either enter post-secondary training or secure a job.

Therefore, the life skills curriculum approach will blend academic, daily living, personal/social, and occupational skills into integrated lessons designed to help the students learn to function independently in society. To make this program work I ask for an open line of communication and partnership between the parents and myself.  This will be key to making this program successful.

I look forward to an exciting and successful school year!  If you have any questions and/or concerns, please do not hesitate to call or e-mail me.
