Hi!  My name is Mrs. Melanie Hartman.  I am the elementary vocal music teacher for the Greenwich and Kutztown Elementary Schools.  I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Lebanon Valley College and have been teaching for twenty four and a half years.  The students at Kutztown School District will receive a well-rounded music education, concentrating on Core Standards of Music Education:  singing, playing instruments, improvising, composing, reading music, analyzing music, evaluating musical performances, understanding relationships between music and the arts, and understanding the relationships between music history and culture.  In addition to receiving a 40- minute music class once in a five-day cycle, the students in fourth and fifth grade have an opportunity to join the elementary chorus and our students in fifth grade have an opportunity to join elementary bell club.  Both groups perform throughout the year at concerts and community events.  It is my hope that I can provide your child with a positive musical experience!  If you have any questions, please contact me at mhartman@kasd.org.
