Fees
Guardians will be receiving additional communication shortly from buildings regarding which participation fees apply to which students.
Participation fees are only applicable if the student is participating in an extracurricular activity. Buildings will send out a full list of applicable extracurricular activities before any fee is due.
August 1st Message
Good afternoon, KASD Families,
As a follow-up to our July 24th message, we’re sharing additional information regarding the activity fees being implemented for the 2025–26 school year.
Attached you’ll find:
• A letter from the Athletics and Activities Office with details about the payment process
• A guide explaining how to view and manage fees in your PowerSchool Parent Portal
Each school building will also send a separate message before the start of school with a list of extracurricular activities.
Please Note:
When you log into your PowerSchool Parent Portal, you may see all potential fees for the year, including:
• Device Insurance
• Athletics and Activity Fee
• Activity Only Fee
These fees appear in every account for convenience, but not all may apply to your student. For example, students may only be responsible for either the Athletics and Activity Fee or the Activity Only Fee, not both.
This new online payment system is being introduced to give families more convenient options. However, payments can still be made by cash or check if preferred. We are confident the system’s reporting features will help us track fees accurately, and our Business Office has procedures in place to reimburse families in the event of accidental overpayment.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we roll out these new systems. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out at ctemchatin@kasd.org.
Have a great weekend,
Christian Temchatin
Superintendent of Schools
Greetings KASD Families,
Over the next few weeks, you will begin receiving back-to-school information from each of our buildings. We hope you’re enjoying the final weeks of summer, whether through favorite traditions, relaxation, or outdoor fun.
As part of this year’s budget process, the District approved the implementation of an activity fee for extracurricular programs in grades 6–12. Please review the attached letter from the Athletics and Activities Department for more details. Additional information will be shared as the school year approaches.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Sincerely,
Christian Temchatin
Superintendent of Schools
