Youth Art Month

March is nationally recognized as the month to celebrate and commend young artists. This year, we are pleased to announce and celebrate the work of seven high school students who have been recognized for their achievements throughout the state. Congratulations to Emily Bray (Grade 9) for being selected as this year’s “High School” Youth Art Month Flag Contest winner. In addition, the 2021 Pennsylvania Art Education Association (PAEA) Youth Art Month Exhibit features the work of Anastasia Kelsall (Grade 12), Wyatt Cole (Grade 11), & Abigail ide (Grade 11). The exhibit can be viewed via the following link from March 1, 2021-April 4, 2021. PAEA is hosting a virtual award ceremony and reception on Saturday, March 20th via Zoom. During this ceremony, prizes and personalized certificates will be awarded to these student artists, sponsored by Blick Art Materials. The ceremony will be uploaded to PAEA’s YouTube channel at a later date for all to view and enjoy. (Virtual Art Show)

Eastern Pennsylvania Scholastic Art Awards

We congratulate three students whose work has been juried into the 2021 East Central Pennsylvania Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Showcase. Fiora Schnell (Grade 10) received a Gold Key, Kristina Guzman (Grade 10) received a Silver Key, and Marina Schnell (Grade 12) received a Silver Key. This exhibition is on display at Kutztown University’s Marlin & Regina Miller Gallery from March 6th –March 21st. The virtual awards ceremony will take place on March 21st via Zoom. Fiora’s photograph has now advanced for National Judging.

Tri-State DisAbility Art Show

This art exhibition, sponsored by the Y.A.L.E. School and the Penn Museum, is the first-of-its-kind art show featuring student artwork from across the tri-state area in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. BCIU Secondary Showcase

Congratulations to our High School Visual Arts Students for their accomplishments in this year’s BCIU Secondary Art Exhibit hosted annually at the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts. This exhibition recognizes the talents of students attending Berks County’s 18 public schools, the Reading Muhlenberg Career & Technology Center, and the Berks Career & Technology Center. Students showcase their talent in a wide range of visual arts media and are juried by resident artists. This year, our students placed exceptionally well. The following student artworks will be on display at the GoggleWorks from April 30th through May 20th.
