    Dear Greenwich-Lenhartsville Elementary School Families:

Greetings from Greenwich.  Welcome to our new families and welcome back to our returning families. The summer has come to an end and school has begun. What a fantastic first week of school! We enjoyed many great moments in our first week as we opened the 2019-2020 school year.

The staff have been very anxious for the children to arrive and welcomed them with smiles and high fives.  The smiling faces of both children and families that unloaded from the buses and cars to enter Greenwich on Monday, evenly matched the excitement and enthusiasm shown by our staff.  What a fabulous sight it was to see families, students, and staff all delighted to begin the 2019-2020 school year.

Our first month of school is a very busy month as well as a very important month.  In September, our students will learn all about the procedures and expectations within their classrooms and within the building. They will also be talking all about the subjects and concepts they will learn this school year including a laser focus on literacy development. Most importantly, we will be providing your children with positive reinforcement and encouragement everyday to help them grow into confident young boys and girls as they move through their elementary years. We believe all children can and will learn while with us here at GES

As a reminder, we are following a 5 day cycle schedule with numbered days. Attendance has a major impact on your child's ability to learn and be succesful. Please have your children to school by 8:45 AM everyday so they are ready to learn when we begin classes at 9:00 AM.

What a great place to work and learn.  I am grateful to be surrounded by staff and families that support and care for one another and for our children.  Greenwich is an environment dedicated to celebrating children and learning. It is with Courage, Teamwork, and Effort that we as a team will ensure we have a memorable 2010-2020 school year!
