March 30, 2020 Update

  • Good evening Kutztown families,

This afternoon Governor Wolf announced that all schools will be closed until further notice. We are currently interpreting this to include all of April with the possibility of extending much longer. We are continuing our preparation for full online instruction. For this week and next, we will continue posting enrichment activities while we shift to our Virtual Learning program which will include required graded assignments and attendance within a flexible structure. This program is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, April 14th after our planned spring break. Resources and more information for students and parents about our Virtual Learning program will be posted on our District website early next week.

A vital step in preparation is gathering accurate information regarding online access to allow for virtual learning. If you have not already done so, we are asking every family to please complete our survey using the link to verify your access. If you cannot access the form, you can also call our COVID-19 Support Line at 484-641-5565 to indicate your need for either a computer or wireless internet connection at home. We will share resources that help support home access and will inform families when we schedule the dates for distribution and pickup of elementary laptops.

During the closure, we will continue to offer free lunch and breakfast from Kutztown Area High School and Greenwich Elementary School from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm daily.

We are grateful for the support of our families and community as we continue to navigate this challenging time and meet our students' needs under the circumstances necessary to ensure public health.
