  • We are commited to supporting families with access to equipemnt and connections during this time. Below are resources to assist you and your students to most fully participate in Virtual Learning at KASD.

District Provided Access

  • Devices

    • Grades 6-12 1:1 Take-home Devices
    • Grades K-5 Loaner Classroom Devices for families in need

    Internet

    • A limited number of HotSpots (K-12) will be available through a loaning program for families without home access or hotspot phone access through their service provider.

Public WiFi Access

    • School District Parking Lots
      • Parking Lots available for WiFi access for students with district devices.
    • Kutztown Public Library Parking Lot

Service Providers

  • We encourage families to contact their local or cellular service provider about internet access. Many of these businesses are offering free service or upgraded/free cellular hotspot access during this time.

    • Service Electric
      • With students at home now in an eLearning environment, Service Electric Cablevision (SECV) will offer 90 days free Internet service to students and teachers who do not already subscribe to SECV Internet. This offer includes the 40M x 4M tier of Internet service, along with a free cable modem rental. It applies only to new customers that have not subscribed to SECV Internet service within the last sixty (60) days. Self-installation required with the assistance of a technician outside the residence to ensure the safety of our employees. All new customers must provide written proof of their child’s current enrollment at a local school in SECV’s service area. All teachers must reside in SECV’s service area and provide evidence of current employment status. Other restrictions may apply.       • All T-Mobile customers as of March 13, 2020 who have plans with data will have unlimited smartphone data for the next 60 days (excluding roaming).
      • T-Mobile customers on plans with smartphone mobile hotspot can add 20GB of smartphone mobile hotspot (10GB per bill cycle for the next 60 days) via myT-Mobile.com or the myT-Mobile app by adding the COVID-19 Response High Speed Smartphone Mobile HotSpot feature for each voice line. (T-Mobile Connect excluded)
