March 17, 2020 Update

  • Good evening Kutztown Area School District Families,

While our nation continues to navigate the new world of COVID-19 mitigation, KASD is committed to supporting our students and families to maintain healthy routines and support academic inquiry and social, emotional, and physical health during this challenging time. Over the past few days, our instructional staff has been aligning enrichment and engagement activities to share with families to support students.

Tomorrow morning, Wednesday, March 18th, you will find information on the KASD homepage for students and families to access elementary, middle, and high school enrichment activities. These are the recommended activities designed to share resources for students and families while we are away from school.

In addition, you will find resources from school counselors and nurses regarding healthy practices for us all during this time of recommended physical distance. Although the term being used is “social distancing,” I encourage you to ensure that all students remain social in means that do not compromise their health.

Most of the resources provided require access to electronic devices and the internet, but our staff will provide paper-based materials if you need them. If you would like us to work with you to secure resources that do not require internet access, please contact us at 484-641-5565, and we will return your message to coordinate.

We are grateful to have a strong community dedicated to our students and families. Thank you all for working together to make the best of our situation.

    Sincerely,
    Christian Temchatin
    Superintendent
